![]() ![]() You will need to do this when you first load a session, when you bank tracks (9-16, 17-24 etc.), or when you change from pan to send a, send b etc. To correct for this you may need to turn the control from one end to the other in order to reset the range. This is great if you want to make a small adjustment but you may find you hit the end of the pot’s physical travel before before the virtual control on screen. The pan and send controls don’t have pot pick-up, they move immediately from whatever position they are in. In order to make these work we ‘emulate’ the operation of the encoders in firmware. Novation’s latest addition to the Launch range soups up the Launch Control to allow Ableton users to focus more on their performance and less on their laptops. The Launch Control XL has pots rather than encoders which have an absolute position. Launchpad accompaniment provides knobs, faders and buttons. HUI is designed to work with encoders for pan and send controls. Keyboard is LaunchKey, Drum Pads are Launchpad, and I guess they intend for 'Control' to mean 'Mixer.' I wanted all my options for a live recording setup so I have one of each, its costly and annoying, but the LaunchControl is really only for mixing the audio, not sampling, clip launching or playing like an instrument while in Ableton. The controls still work relatively to turn pans left and right. *Due to the Pro Tools HUI implementation, the centre detent of the LaunchControl XL pan pots will not directly correspond to the centre position of Pro Tool’s pan pots. Fixed crash: Sending Sysex Messages with values out of LaunchControl XL´s parameter range to the device ![]() Added additional MIDI port "LaunchControl XL HUI" Release notes for Firmware Updater 1.2 (firmware revision 59) Added full class compliance (LaunchControl XL now supports use with MIDI-hosts like Kenton "MIDI USB Host" or iConnectivity "iConnect MIDI") I hope I'm being clear enough, don't hesitate to ask me questions if not.Only needed for users on Mac OS versions earlier than 10.12. I've attached the script in text format below However, such messages will only be acted upon if the currently selected template contains a button/pot whose note/CC value and MIDI channel match those of the incoming message. Mode 2 : Use CC#77 and CC#78 to control pre-mapped parameters inside kontakt only on selected track. So Id do some tests by sending lots of different values, just in case the template is not mapped as you expect. Mode 1: Control the two first nobes of the Instrument rack only on selected track So to resume I would like the script to do so: When I change the script for the default Launch Control XL everything works fine, it's like the custom script is blocking the MIDI signal through the different tracks. Can someone point me in a direction of something that enables the use of the Novation XL unit in this manner without having to reload each time. Each time I save my set and then load up another etc, I have to remap. For example I can assign MIDI CC of the sliders to the play button but Kontakt does not receive any MIDI signal. The idea being that I can then press a button, or Focus on the Compressor and have control using the knobs / sliders. Then I have to press the user template button, again press the factory template button and once more user template button, and then it works. To control those parameters, I must assign to each of them the midi CC's of the two faders, inside Kontakt.īut when I use the custom script I receive midi information in ableton but not in the tracks. MikkoH wrote:Do you mean that when you load a set the Launch Control doesnt work instantly At least for me it always loads the factory template by default. The problem is that we can't map all the parameters of Kontakt VST's into the Instrument Rack. I then created a script which enables to control those two knobs only on the selected track. To do so, I assigned VST Dynamics and Expression (most of the plugins I use are in Kontakt) on the two first knob of the Instrument Rack. So, my goal here is to set up 2 sliders at least which control dynamics and expression on every VSTPlugins on each track. It feels like a bit of a missed opportunity that the Send knobs cant be used to control device parameters like the. The sturdy design makes it ideal for live performance, but its quite at home as a mixing tool in the studio too. In "virtual orchestral music", dynamics and expression are very important to try to emulate human playing. Tech Support Request Ive recently bought a Launch Control XL. The Launch Control XL is a very well thought-out controller that packs a lot into its relatively tiny surface area. So, I'm trying to build a set up for orchestral composition. Launch Control XL has a single MIDI port named ‘Launch Control XL n’, where n is the device ID of your unit (not shown for device ID 1). Use the Launch Control XL Editor (available on the Novation website) to modify your 8 user templates. I'll start first by explaining what I want to achieve with Control surface studio. 07h (0-7), whereas factory templates occupy slots 08-0Fh (8-15). ![]()
